Christine Lightfoot

Pet Groomer

Tiny groomer, big heart. I’m Christine – your local Dundas, Ontario dog groomer and cat groomer! I’m a graduate of Fluffy Paws Grooming School, where I was personally trained by Groom Team Canada’s Wynne Wong. I live in Dundas with my husband and our two cat children (it’s their house, we just live in it).

Yep, you guessed it: animals are my purpose in life. I believe that we are parents, not just owners and they are equals, not just pets. My mission is to bring compassion and humanity to the grooming experience. In my home studio, every groom is treated like a full-on spa day.

Between 2 and 4 months old (after all of their shots). A Bath & Tidy is the perfect introduction for your pet to feel comfortable with me, my space, and the experience of being pampered.
1 to 2 hours. The exact timing will be unique to your pet! Depending on their breed, the state of their coat, and their overall health and behavior, it may take longer for us to bond with each other. For the first few baths, I’ll take additional time to make them feel comfortable, try different techniques, and give ‘em extra love.

Make sure you take your pet for a long potty walk before their groom. If you can, take some time before the appointment to do anything that makes them calm and happy.
I always prioritize humanity over vanity when it comes to your pets. If your pet is matted I will have to use the shortest clipper comb to get under the mat to remove it and not cause your pet pain. I understand that a lot of pet parents want to save the coat when the pet is matted but that puts the pet through pain and discomfort and my goal is to always provide the most stress free experience as I can. Matting occurs mostly behind the ears, legs, chest and belly. Please brush your pet daily and keep them on a regular grooming schedule to avoid matting.
It’s always best to go to your vet for these procedures. As a groomer, it’s not medically safe for me to express anal glands or pluck ear hair.
It is important for puppies to start and stick with the same groomer so that they may bond and become less stressed and fearful of being groomed. For that reason I do not accept puppies as clients who will be over 40lbs full grown.
My approach to pet grooming is centered around comfort and trust. I do everything I can to make your pet feel at ease with me and my space.

Contact Me

Drop off: Please have your pet in a crate or on a leash. Bring your pet through the gate to the grooming room and give the door a knock.

Pick up: Please arrive for pick up on time so I can clean adequately before the next groom. I always work one on one with your pet, so I’m unable to keep two pets at once. Emergencies happen! Call me anytime and I can help coordinate your pick up
